There's a graveyard on each side of town.
I wonder why
they had to die?
To my left there is a graveyard.
There are millions of dead children lying there.
They were murdered in the name of choice,
but their mothers took away their voice
because people thought they were a burden.
Many in that graveyard
were patients in their life.
But they asked to be killed.
Or maybe they were killed
without their consent.
Either way,
they were killed
because people thought they were a burden.
To the right there is a graveyard.
That's where the criminals lie.
Some were innocent,
and unjustly accused.
Others were not,
but still had their lives taken away,
because people thought they deserved it.
The terrorists lie there too.
They not only had their lives taken away,
but they had no other freedoms.
Because people thought they deserved it.
They both say there's no graveyard,
but that is a lie.
Everyone exposes one graveyard,
while hiding the other.
I cannot wait until the day
when the graves will only say
that the person died naturally.
This poem is about how people on both sides of the political spectrum seem to allow some sort of violence, but they condemn the other side for supporting a different form of violence.
