Ever since you noticed that I was a little strange
You tried to fix me.
You tried and tried,
But you failed each time.
The more you tried to fix me,
The more you ended up breaking me.
Don't try it again.
Don't fix me,
I'm not broken.
Just because I'm a little strange,
Doesn't mean I should be changed.
Maybe I'm different from the others.
But that doesn't make me broken.
Just different.
Is there anything wrong with being a little odd?
Is there anything wrong with being unlike the others?
Don't fix me until I break.
And when I break,
Help me.
Don't hurt me.
This poem is about how people with disabilities are treated and how people try to cure them for our own benefit rather than trying to help them.
