I'm very pro-life. I really hate Planned Parenthood. However, I feel like calling BSDM "violence against girls" or "deviant sexual behavior" minimizes the trauma of other sexual violence, such as rape. I'm not saying that it's a good idea for Planned Parenthood to encourage teens to engage in any sort of sexual activity, because it's certainly not. But demonizing BSDM specifically without considering the horrible things that happen to teenagers is, let's face it, offensive. Please take that into consideration.
Their response:
Mary,
Thank
you so much for reaching out and sharing your feelings with us! First
and foremost, we believe that rape is 100% wrong and should not be
tolerated. Lila Rose has spoken out about this issue, and all of us here
at the office believe rape is one of the most immoral acts of
disrespect out there. We also believe that BDSM does not show the right
kind of respect for women because it encourages violent acts. We believe
both that rape and BDSM are wrong separately of one another, but also
BDSM can encourage the wrong kind of sexual bonding which may lead to
things like rape. When we say we disagree with BDSM being encouraged, it
does not lessen the fact that we believe rape is 100% wrong. We do
acknowledge that violence is involved with both, but that does not
lessen the amount of horribleness involved in both acts of violence.
Again, thank you for reaching out to us! It is important to us to hear all you are thinking about and have to say. Keep up the good work, and hopefully one day our efforts will put an end to abortion and Planned Parenthood!
