Why you should give Edward Snowden a break

To anyone saying Edward Snowden is selfish, a traitor, putting others in danger, or whatever... please consider this:
1. Leaking those documents did absolutely nothing for him. In fact, he had a lot to lose. Please tell me how awesome it would be to live in Russia while knowing the U.S. government is out to get you. There is nothing awesome about that, unless Edward Snowden is really desperate to see Gerard Way when he tours there in September. But that seems extremely unlikely.
2. Legally, treason would mean disclosing information to the enemy. Are we the enemy?
3. From what I understand, he did not list the names and addresses of every NSA agent there is. Unlike SOME people...
4. "But the NSA's mass surveillance program can stop terrorists, and if the terrorists know what the NSA is doing, they'll find other ways to communicate!" So... should the government put cameras and recording devices EVERYWHERE a terrorist may potentially be? That would be not only tyrannical, but also extremely impractical. But hey, they could catch some terrorists if they were able to work out the practical details, right?
5. "I disagree with the NSA's mass surveillance program as well, but did he really have to go that far?" Um, yes, if he wanted anything to possibly change that.
6. "He broke the law!" So did Martin Luther King Jr, Susan B. Anthony, Miep Gies, Harriet Tubman, and many other great people. So what's your point, again?
7. "But I have nothing to hide!" So... would it be okay if I put a surveillance camera in your bathroom? Would it be okay if the government did that? No? But you're not doing anything sinister! Why should you care? There's nothing sinister about doing your business! Everyone does it! It's a part of life! Why do you have to hide it? Oh, you just don't want people to see your butt? Well, GET OVER IT.
Well, you get the idea. #TeamEdwardSnowden
